Pianello is a small town lying in a narrow valley, crossed by the river Chiascio, along the road connecting Perugia to Valfabbrica, Gualdo Tadino and Ancona.

Its name comes from a small village, without city walls, called Villa Pianelli, dating back to 14th century, a time of frequent struggles and wars between Perugia and Assisi: both towns actually wanted to conquer this important territory.

In 1361 its square became one of the major trading centers near Perugia, and the town was assigned a big market fair taking place on 22nd July, the day dedicated to S.Maria Maddalena.

Many important personalities passed through this enchanting village throughout the centuries, its inhabitants are well known for being friendly and simple people, with a big sense of hospitality, which present you with our typical Umbrian, as well as Italian, kitchen.

We can mention this date: 6th June 1464, when the Pope Pio II, travelling towards Ancona, stopped here for the night, and here he received the homage of magistrates from Perugia.

In the summer 1979, Mario and Orlanda, a simple, young and nice enterprising couple, with three young daughters, decided to open their own restaurant. Mario is the very determined, he knows his wife’s culinary skills very well, and soon understands that her dishes will satisfy every palate.

Mario was not wrong: since their first wedding ceremonies, the typical Umbrian dishes turned out to be real successes, also because they were carefully prepared and presented, and Olanda’s fantasy soon became popular and successful within all the guests.

The young, enthusiastic and creative daughters have recently joined the family business, and today the restaurant is famous for organizing beautiful banquets and buffets, where even the most demanding palate are satisfied.

The structure is roomy and well divided into different rooms, in order to welcome many guests. We have two dining rooms with services and a long portico.
